Success of the UCI Cycling World Championships

Following the success of the UCI Cycling World Championships held in Harrogate in September 2019, we were approached by Marshall Crowe from Foremost Coaching and British Cycling Eastern Junior RR Team Manager, to see if we could host the Juniors training in February 2020.

Their requirement was for 12 Juniors and their Coach to stay for five nights in a homely and welcoming environment with great kitchen amenities to accommodate healthy meal preparation, cycling kit washing and drying facilities and not forgetting comfortable beds.

Benefiting from the legacy that was left by the UCI and thanks to Yorkshire’s cycling renaissance on the roads that hosted the Tour de France, Morton House and Stable Block is fast becoming a cyclist’s dream stay because of the comfortable accommodation, beautiful setting and ideal location. The UCI Cycling World Championships has put North Yorkshire firmly on the cycling map.

‘We had a very successful camp last week based in Masham. Morton House was fantastic for our needs – well equipped, spacious, warm, characterful and comfortable (loved your underfloor heating in the Stable Block). Great kitchen and washing facilities (we ate out for dinner but I needed to do a lot of kit washing due to the road conditions). All our kit dried naturally using the drying rack in the main kitchen.

I would certainly recommend your establishment to cycling clubs. I know it is just what they need as a base to ride in a superb cycling environment (those 25% ramps we found over by the White Horse hill) East of Northallerton were ‘killers’.

Thank you again for all your help and fabulous customer service.

Best regards, Marshall’
